3D ANIMATED FOOD

THE PROJECT

The all-new Volkswagen Golf 8 is here. I had the opportunity to work with French directors Julien & Quentin and MarkenFilm Berlin for the launch of a new VW Golf 8 campaign in Germany. My work focused on the creation and animation of 3D emoji icons for several fun life scenes around the car.

One week to bring colorful emojis to life and integrate them into this cool ad! Rad shots.

The target of this campaign is the modern parents which go beyond travel and mini adventures in family. This ads directly reaches children as prescribers. To do so, we engage children with cute and epic characters while showing the Golf 8 functionnalities.

Smileys have become essential elements in the parent/child dialogue. Here they bring generations together in the sometimes difficult choice of meals and road stories.

Easy to concept since fast food icons had already a shape language that everybody have in mind. I played with color to create a strong graphic universe still in adequation with Volkswagen graphic chart which uses a vivid yellow.

J&Q created 3 key scenes for 3 moments of life: searching for a meal, roadside break and coming back home.

The film aims to show latest the technical innovations and new features of the Golf 8.

technical breakdown

Due to a tight deadline, I didn't have time to sketch the characters, everything was done while sculpting and modeling in Blender.

I used classic emojis as 3D references and twisted them to my liking with details and colors, resulting in a playful and unique fantasy of everyday life.
